Paddle the Stillwater in Smithfield

July 6, 2016 @ 6:00 pm

Join us as we paddle & explore two mills in one on a paddle up Stillwater Pond!

Georges Bockstael, of the Breakwater Preservation Conservancy, will join us on the paddle  and explain the decision of two mills combining into one and the resulting evolution of water wheel power generation. We will paddle about 1.5 miles roundtrip on Stillwater Pond, with steep banks on either side of the beautiful, deep centered river.

For all of our trips, we have canoes and kayaks, paddles and life jackets, or you are welcome to bring your own boat. Children are welcome as long as they are accompanied by an adult.

If you’re using one of our boats the price is $35/person. If you are bringing your own boat the price is $15. On all trips, if you are bringing your own boat please remember to bring a life jacket for everyone who will be in your boat.

Contact Erik at etalley@wrwc.org or  (401) 481-1376 to register and for more details.

Advance sign-up is required.
