Family fun Day at Blackstone River State Park

On Saturday July 23, Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park and Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management are hosting a Family Fun Day at the Blackstone River State Park in Lincoln, RI. This free event will run from 1 PM to 4 PM.

“The Blackstone River State Park is one of the areas included in the Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park,” said Ranger Kevin Klyberg. “We are inviting everyone to join us next Saturday to see this beautiful site, learn a bit about the park and just have a great time outdoors. We are also excited to work with our partner Rhode Island DEM who built and manage the park to highlight this important piece of the Blackstone Valley story.”

Along with information about the park, other Family Fun Day events include:

Tours of the Wilbur Kelly House Museum from 1-4

A visit by the Scattered Seeds Foundation Tree Bus

Other games and activities throughout the day

1:00 PM – Wildflower Walk

1:30 PM – Blackstone Canal Walk

2:00 PM – A Visit from Captain Kelly’s cousin’s from the whaling town of New Bedford

3:00 PM – Blackstone Canal

The Family Fun Day events will be located around the Wilbur Kelly House Transportation Museum, within the park at 1075 Lower River Road, Lincoln, RI. Parking is available at the Blackstone River Bikeway parking lots both at the Kelly House and at the end of Front Street, in Cumberland, RI.
